UNITED WAY CELEBRATES THE POWER OF VOLUNTEERISM

The United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County brought community volunteers together for a vibrant celebration highlighting the essential role volunteers play in driving meaningful, lasting change across the region. As part of its 80th anniversary celebration, the event carried forward a legacy of impact with fun that encouraged connection, appreciation, and community spirit. Held during Volunteer Month, the event also served as a call to action—inviting individuals across the community to get involved, give back, and be part of something bigger. United Way continues to encourage residents, businesses, and partners to step forward in service, recognizing that even small acts of volunteerism can create ripple effects of lasting change.

More than just a celebration, the gathering served as a reminder of a simple truth: real change happens when people show up for one another. Volunteers are the backbone of United Way’s work, helping turn compassion into action and ensuring that critical programs and services reach those who need them most.

“Volunteerism is at the heart of everything we do,” said Kaci Pena, Director of Community Engagement. “It’s through the dedication, time, and passion of our volunteers that we’re able to create real, measurable impact in our community. Tonight is about celebrating that spirit and the people who make it possible.”

The event was made possible in part by generous community partners, including Brooklyn Pizza, which sponsored dinner, and Nothing Bundt Cakes, which provided dessert for attendees. From supporting youth success and strengthening financial stability to improving health and building resilience, United Way’s work is fueled by volunteers who give their time to make a difference. Events like this not only recognize their contributions but also invite others to get involved and be part of the solution.

As United Way continues its 80th anniversary year, the organization remains focused on one core belief: when people unite through service, stronger communities are built.
