United Way celebrates community, legacy and local impact at inaugural ‘United for Good’ gala

BAYTOWN, Texas (June 8, 2026)The United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County welcomed nearly 200 community leaders, supporters, volunteers, partners, and advocates together on Friday, June 5, 2026, for the inaugural United for Good Gala, presented by Chevron Phillips Chemical. Chaired by Daryl and Bridgette Fontenot, Steve Daniele, and Suzanne Heinrich, the evening celebrated the power of community and investing in the future of local impact.

The casino-themed evening featured a poker tournament, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and opportunities for guests to come together in support of United Way’s mission to improve lives and strengthen communities across Greater Baytown and Chambers County. Through the generosity of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees, the inaugural event raised more than $81,000 to support United Way’s Community Impact Grant program, which invests in local nonprofit organizations working every day to create lasting change throughout the community.

The evening also marked a significant milestone as attendees gathered to recognize the retirement of Chief Executive Officer Melissa Reabold, honoring her years of leadership, dedication, and service to the organization and community.

“This evening represented everything that makes our community special. People coming together, investing in one another, and believing in what we can accomplish when we work united,” said Kaylynn Clapper, Resource Development Manager for United Way. “We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supported our inaugural United for Good Gala and helped make it such a meaningful success. Seeing our community rally together to support Community Impact reminds us why this work matters. As we continue to celebrate 80 years of service, we are excited to continue building toward 80 more years of impact together.”

The inaugural gala serves as a continuation of United Way’s commitment to bringing people, resources, and ideas together to create measurable change across Greater Baytown and Chambers County.

As United Way celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026, the organization remains focused on strengthening partnerships, investing in community solutions, and mobilizing support so all can thrive.
