United Way Day at the Capitol

United Way Day at the Capitol

We need you.  Ride with us to the Capital March 1

Baytown, Texas:

Join United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County (GBACC) along with community leaders and volunteers for a day of conversation, connection, and advocacy at the Texas Capitol.

“We will make a day trip to Austin to show collective support by speaking with elected officials,” stated Suzanne Zutter, Executive Director of United Way GBACC.  “There are several important bills up for vote this year that will ensure greater economic stability and expanded health opportunities for all of us in Baytown and Chambers County.”

The bus will leave promptly at 5:00 am from the United Way GBACC parking lot; participants will be treated to coffee and breakfast items during the morning ride.  Upon arriving in Austin, the group will meet with other United Way delegates for training, highlighted talking points and networking.  After which, groups will meet with legislatures.

“We have scheduled four meetings so far with Legislatures, and want our community members to engage with our legislatures on important issues facing our constituents,” added Zutter. “We only have 26 spots left, so sign up today to fill the bus and capitol hallways with Baytownians and Chamber County residents!”
