United Way is uniquely positioned to create community solutions that engage people, companies, faith communities, government, labor, nonprofits and more to create community solutions that drive lasting change and results in communities around the world. We invite everyone to be part of the change.
Perhaps the most visible example of our strategic volunteer engagement is United Way Day of Action, which occurs annually on and around June 21. Every year, hundreds of United Ways across the world bring thousands of volunteers together in a worldwide Day of Action.
This year, some 400 United Ways across the U.S. and in 20 countries are mobilizing volunteers for projects focused on education, income and health.
United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County is rallying hundreds of volunteers throughout the community for a book drive If you would like to contribute to this effort, simply collect and drop off new or gently used children’s books at the United Way office, located at 5309 Decker Drive, Baytown, TX 77520, from Monday, June 12th through Friday, June 23rd, 8am-5pm. All of the donated books will be placed in the Little Free Libraries throughout the community.
Day of Action is a great opportunity for families, friends, or even colleagues at your worksite to stand with United Way and Join the Fight!
