Day of Caring Projects

PROJECT APPLICATIONS 

Project applications are due by July 31, 2018. 

To be considered, the project must be:

  1. in the greater Baytown area or Chambers County, (zips 77514, 77520, 77521, 77522, 77523, 77560, 77562, 77580, 77587, 77661, 77665)

  2. at a local organization, or a project for an elderly or disabled homeowner, and

  3. something that can be completed in one day.

For each project, you must complete a separate application.

You will be assigned a different project if you are submitting a project request and plan to volunteer for Day of Caring.  You will not participate on your own project. 

Here are a few project ideas:

  • Install shelves and other items to better organize your space.
  • Paint walls.
  • Install lighting fixtures.
  • Coordinate a special activity with your clients (if a nonprofit organization.
  • Improve landscaping at entrance of your organization.
  • Create walking trail.
  • Install fencing/repair fencing.
  • No structural work.
If you are a homeowner, you must be elderly and/or disabled.

What is Your Project?

Help the review team understand the scope of the project you wish to have completed.  Remember, the steering committee will determine which projects are to be completed. Completing this form does not guarantee your project will be selected.

Describe the actual work that needs to be completed. Keep in mind the maximum time parameters of Day of Caring. Someone from the steering committee will set up a project eval meeting with you to review your project. There is no guarantee that your project will be completed.
Describe what equipment you can provide. Note that by doing so, you assume risks of this equipment being damaged or broken. Someone from the steering committee will finalize the equipment and supply needs after the project eval meeting. There is no guarantee your project will be completed.
Some projects require access to water and hoses. Please indicate if you will provide these items.

Is there parking available for several volunteers?
How many people are needed to complete this project? Please use your best estimate. Minimum is 3 volunteers.
How many hours do you estimate will be needed to complete the project? Minimum is 3 hours.
